  My friend reported a homeowner's storm damage claim with her agent Mr. Jim Thorne. She articulated to Mr. Thorne that her home had 63 damaged shingles scattered all over her roof. This conclusion was conveyed via the Allstate field adjuster. The field adjuster informed her that they will repair her home by replacing all 63 damaged shingles. Her roof is over 13 years old. Being that a significant amount of years have passed her black shingles have experience some oxidation issues and now are faded appearing to be sort of light gray. Can you imagine how hideous looking these new shingles would be enhanced when you matched them with the old ones. This would be in a complete eye sore in this neighborhood of these homes valued over 160K to over 200K. Not to mention she is the only home on her street that the roof haven't been replaced via homeowner's insurance. This is a direct result of not living up to their slogan of "YOU ARE IN GOOD HANDS". She have been with Allstate for over 20 plus years as an customer. So when she finally had a valid claim to use her insurance she learn quickly SHE WAS NOT IN GOOD HANDS. There were evidence of hail and wind which was dismissed by undocumented conclusion by the field adjuster. Allstate used every excuse but to indemnify her property back to it condition prior to her claim. She told Mr. Thorne she would like to exercise her right to receive a second inspection being that this first one was beyond her comprehension. Mr. Thorne denied her request and told her he stand behind the field adjuster. Mr. Thorne stated if she could not produce anymore evidence then there is, he can do nothing for her. Prior to this incident she had nothing but praises for him because she never had to really use him. All agent's while taking your money pretend to be your friend but now when it's time for you to reciprocate then now they will show you they are a business. Just like most people you really don't know your insurance company until you have a claim. Don't be fooled by this man or Allstate when choosing this agent or company. CAN YOU IMAGINE YOUR HOME BEING PATCH UP BY REPLACING 63 NEW SHINGLES ALL OVER YOUR ENTIRE HOME......REALLY JIM THORNE

  Everything with this office had been pretty good regarding my auto/homeowners policy up until two months ago when our auto policy increased by $38 dollars per month. When I called to figure out why the increase had occurred, I was given a generic response of, "sorry, we forgot to tell you, and it was due to a nationwide increase overall." They claimed that all insurance companies were going to experience similar rate increases and my only option to lower my monthly rate would be to decrease my coverage limits. I obtained a new policy with better coverage at a lower rate with no issues. Aside from a lack of communication and poor explanation practices, this isn't a bad insurance agent but remember to pay attention to your auto payment amounts.
